The research “Not Just a Woman - An Overview of LBQ Activism in Vietnam” poses four main questions: (1) What is the landscape of LBQ activism in Vietnam? (2) What are the main challenges faced by LBQ organizations and activists, and how do they affect their work? (3) How have LBQ organizations and activists collaborated with each other and other stakeholders? (4) What opportunities are emerging for LBQ activism in Vietnam? To answer these questions, the research uses a qualitative method, combining in-depth analysis of existing documents and in-depth interviews. The research was conducted from August to October 2024, with 21 in-depth interviews and one focus group discussion with LBQ and feminist activists.

Nghiên cứu Đánh giá Thực trạng và Xác định Nhu cầu Kết nối và Phát triển của Cha mẹ, Người thân, và Bạn bè của Người LGBTI+ (gọi tắt là người thân đồng minh) được thực hiện với mong muốn đưa ra cái nhìn tổng quan nhất về sự hiện diện của họ ở bối cảnh văn hóa - kinh tế - chính trị - xã hội hiện tại, từ đó có thể phát triển những phương án nhằm xây dựng phát triển một nhóm người thân đồng minh phù hợp, bền vững và có ý nghĩa trong phong trào vận động quyền LGBTI+ tại Việt Nam. Nghiên cứu được thực hiện bởi Trung tâm ICS và các chuyên gia tư vấn độc lập, với sự hỗ trợ và đóng góp ý kiến từ Phân hiệu Học viện Phụ nữ Việt Nam - Cơ sở Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh và các đối tác cộng đồng.

The "Assessment of the situation, connectivity and development needs of parents, families and friends of LGBTI+ people" research results provide a preliminary picture of the presence, current challenges, and opportunities of ally groups and individuals across Vietnam after 12 years of participating in the LGBTI+ rights movement. The research report also provides recommendations for activities to be more adaptive to the current economic, political, and social context and available resources from relevant stakeholders in the current movement.The study was conducted by ICS Center, independent consultants Nguyen Bich Phuong and Hoang Ngoc An, with support and input from the Vietnam Women's Academy - Ho Chi Minh City Campus and other community partners.

The study 'Exploring the Lived Experiences of Conversion Therapy Efforts among LGBTIQ+ people in Vietnam' is the first in-depth research in Vietnam focusing on examining the forms, impacts, and consequences of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression Change Efforts (SOGICE) on LGBTIQ+ individuals. The research has demonstrated that SOGICE represents attempts to alter sexual orientation and gender identity - practices that have been assessed as harmful and scientifically unfounded. The findings reveal that all participants had experienced at least two different forms of SOGICE, primarily from family members, relatives, and their social environment. The study analyzes six common forms of conversion therapy, along with their profound psychological, physical, and relational impacts on victims. This represents an important scientific resource that contributes to raising awareness about the harmful effects of forced conversion practices while also proposing essential support needs for LGBTIQ+ individuals in Vietnam. It marks a breakthrough in comprehensively understanding and evaluating the conversion therapy experiences of LGBTIQ+ people in Vietnam.

Với quan điểm cộng đồng người LGBTIQ+ xứng đáng được đối xử với những tiêu chuẩn báo chí phổ quát, như khách quan, chính xác, liêm chính, tôn trọng, bản hướng dẫn này được xây dựng với mục tiêu để những câu chuyện của cộng đồng LGBTIQ+ có thể được kể một cách chân thực và tôn trọng nhất.

This quantitative research aims to understand the push and pull factors that impact transgender people when participating in policy advocacy activities for the Draft Law on Gender Affirmation. The research helps provide information to support authorities and interested organizations in their orientation and planning to effectively mobilize community involvement and participation in advocating for transgender people and LGBTIQA+ rights in Vietnam.

"Có phải bởi vì tôi là LGBTI?" là một nghiên cứu được thực hiện bởi Viện iSEE nhằm đưa ra những thông tin chính xác về thực trạng Phân biệt đối xử dựa trên xu hướng tính dục, bản dạng giới và đặc điểm giới tính tại Việt Nam.

This research report provides an overview of how other countries have sought to legally provide for the changing of an individual’s gender on official documentation, including the procedures for changing one’s gender and the legal impact on the individual’s identity and property after the gender change. Based on this overview, the report outlines key recommendations for consideration by lawmakers in Viet Nam as they debate and develop the Gender Affirmation Law.
