Report Summary: The State of Sexual Violence against Asexuals in Vietnam and Related Factors
This report focuses on analyzing the prevalence of sexual violence and its mental health impacts on the asexual community in Vietnam—a group often 'invisibilise' even within the LGBTQI+ community. By combining quantitative and qualitative methods, including an online survey with 442 valid responses and in-depth interviews, the report documents the sexual violence experienced by asexual individuals due to sexual pressure, social stigma, and the lack of legal and medical support mechanisms. The findings reveal alarming rates of anxiety, depression, and suicide risk, thereby emphasizing the urgent need for protective policies and gender-sensitive healthcare services tailored specifically for the asexual community.
