"IS IT BECAUSE I AM LGBTI?": Discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics.

"Is it because I am LGBTI?" is a study conducted by iSEE to provide accurate information on the reality of discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics in Vietnam. Survey results from nearly 2500 people across 62 provinces and cities in Vietnam indicate that one in ten respondents reported experiencing significant discrimination and prejudice in the past 12 months (10.1%, or 250 people). Expanding the scale to approximately five years prior to the survey, one in five respondents (20.5%) reported experiencing significant discrimination and prejudice because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
